1) I am SO curious to know whether the skeletons of those birds just look like normal skeletons 2) This is making me want to get my favorite books bound but I don't think I could ever afford it

my guess is yes, given that penguins have normal skeletons (with knees!) but their blubber hides them. maybe they have expanded ribcages, but who knows.

Thielman spent thousands of dollars on these bindings and kept meticulous track of his finances. He was, however, a retired bookdealer, so it's not as though he started from a high-rolling profession. Though the cost of living in Indiana in the 1980s was far lower than today.
